More fairies

What is it about fairies and the fae legends that have us rapt with attention? Is it their beautiful wings? Their beautiful, yet mischievous faces? Their naughty, yet peaceful nature? Or is it just through time and story telling throughout the years, that their legend has become one of childhood hopes and dreams personified?

Many years ago, fairies were seen as evil creatures to some, the cause of much mirth and understanding. Only those who believe can ever see them, and so children were extremely susceptible, but to adults, that were sceptics and non-believers and couldnt see these wonderful beings, the story of how evil and awful they were , was born. Nowadays, in an age where we are becoming more and more open to change and to others beliefs and opinions, the idea of life not just being about things we can see and touch, is thankfully an age our children will grow in peace with. Non believers and sceptics that pour scorn on all things they cannot see nor touch, are living in a very limited world. If they would only open their eyes to the world around them, they would see how very beautiful life is. Why should we be the only beings in this world? Why is man to stubborn and proud to admit that there is so much out there that cannot be explained and categorized.

I believe in fairies, I believe in the spirit world, I believe in angels, and I believe in love and peace. We have so much to be thankful for, and yet we are always wanting more, take a look around you, look at the colours, hear the sounds of nature, taste the food we eat, smell the very air we breathe and touch what it is we cannot see, and then think about those who cant and those who wont.

Thankyou for giving me my 5 senses, and for giving me the intelligence and humility to believe.

If you don't believe in fairies, then how may I ask, "can you believe in yourself?"

I think, at a child's birth, if a mother could ask a fairy godmother to endow it with the most useful gift, that gift should be curiosity.
Eleanor Roosevelt

When the first baby laughed for the first time, the laugh broke into a thousand pieces and they all went skipping about, and that was the beginning of fairies. And now when every new baby is born its first laugh becomes a fairy. So there ought to be one fairy for every boy or girl.
J.M. Barrie (18601937),

The land of faery,
Where nobody gets old and godly and grave,
Where nobody gets old and crafty and wise,
Where nobody gets old and bitter of tongue.
William Butler Yeats
